Help me raise money for Bahamas hurricane relief! Social media always feels so extraneous and insignificant anytime a disaster unfolds, but I also love seeing the power of what all of us as a community can do, and I felt called to do something for our friends in the Bahamas after Dorian's destruction.
A few years ago, I visited the Out Islands of the Bahamas on assignment with the travel magazine I used to work for shortly after Hurricane Joaquin plowed through. Guys, it was HEARTBREAKING seeing the destruction even then, but the unbreakable spirit of the in the midst of sadness from the folks we met has stuck with me ever since! I can't imagine what these beautiful islands look like now after Dorian, and I know from first-hand experience that they need insane amounts of support to get back on their feet.
I'll be donating to Mission to the World, a mission organization that my father-in-law works for. They'll be sending in teams and supplies for physical and financial help! Let's be our own beacons of hope for those who need help in the Bahamas.
When it came to picking a theme for Mia Brighton’s third birthday, the answer was literally in her name. Mia is named after Brighton Ski Resort—mine and Alex’s favorite mountain to snowboard. We’ve been riding together for over 20 years, and snowboarding holds a special place in our family since Alex proposed to me on the slopes. So naturally, a ski-inspired celebration felt like the perfect fit for our little snow bunny’s January birthday.
