Anyway, you guys know I am NOTORIOUS for slacking in my email marketing, and 90% of the problem was that it felt like a chore. Like worse than washing the dishes, ugh. Thanks to this new little gem called Flodesk, I am back in the business, baby! (And hopefully in your inbox!) My fab friend Elisabeth mentioned it to me, and one log in later, I was hooked. I literally packed up call my subscribers, cleaned house , and cancelled my Mailchimp subscription the next day. Hereās why I made the move from Mailchimp (better known as the āclunky monkey.ā Yāall know Iām talking about) to Flodesk without an OUNCE of hesitation. Not to mention, if you are a visual brand like me where you NEED to be able to include photos in your emails even if they are apparently the devil (looking at you Converkit), Flodesk integrates them seamlessly, without having to do weird resizing or compressing. It just WORKS. I had been playing around with Convertkit just MINUTES (okay, weeks, but who even knows what day it is anymore #smallbizlife) before falling in love with Flodesk, and I still wasnāt quite sold on the fact that I would have to manually code in any imagery. The templates themselves are stunning and made me WANT to send emails, just to show them off. Kinda like when you get a new outfit, so you make you husband take you to a *fancy* restaurant so you can dress to the nines and order an adult beverage to sip on with your pinky up ā theyāre THAT good. I am a smidddge concerned that other emails will look similar to mine because the templates are too easy and too good NOT to use, but the huge array of font and design options dampens that fear. You donāt need to hop over to Canva or Illustrator ā youāve got a smorgasbord of drool-worthy fonts right at your fingertips, and it couldnāt be easier to change up your text. I also am a big fan of being able to add in my brand color palette so that the hex codes are right there when I need them! Add in a kerning and letter spacing function, and your girl is SOLD. Kudos to the ladies who thought of all this. They know their stuff.Ā
Thereās also pop-up forms, landing pages, workflows...I mean, you can get after it, and I plan to! I already added a pop-up to my website and saw 8 new email subscribers just in the first few hours. Thatās powerful stuff!
Okay so in the beginning of my business, this was not something that was important to me, but as Iāve ventured into different facets of my biz, Iām realizing just how much I actually need this feature. Most of my email list is folks interested in products, so there are crickets (like BIG FAT ONES) when I send emails about my creative education, stationery or the podcast.
